On February 10, Amazon Prime Video released Farzi, the highly anticipated OTT debut of Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi. The series, which features suspenseful and thrilling storytelling, has been well-received by both audiences and critics. Renowned director-duo Raj & DK, known for their work on Stree and The Family Man, helmed the project.
In Farzi, Raashi Khanna portrays Megha, a sincere RBI official dedicated to addressing the issue of counterfeit money in the country. Khanna, a well-known actress in the South Indian film industry, reportedly received a fee of around ₹1.5 crore for her role. Mansoor, the top counterfeiter in the series, is played by Kay Kay Menon, who allegedly received ₹2.5 crore for the part. South superstar Vijay Sethupathi, who plays Michael, a diligent cop trying to save his marriage, reportedly received compensation of around ₹7 crore for his supporting role in the thriller.
According to reports, Shahid Kapoor initially demanded a fee of over ₹35 crore for his OTT debut in Farzi. However, after the failure of his film Jersey at the box office, it was claimed that he received approximately ₹30 crore for his lead role in the show as Artist. Shahid's next project is expected to be Bloody Daddy, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
